The Police Department is currently approved for 39 sworn officer positions, 6 paid reserve police officer positions, and 20 non-sworn support positions. Staff are assigned to 1 of 3 divisions:

For the first time the Morgan Hill Police Department has developed a Public Safety Outcome Based Strategic Plan (Strategic Plan). The Strategic Plan will serve as a road map for the Police Department for our public safety strategies for the next 4 years. Our Strategic Plan is aligned with our mission and vision, and includes 4 outcomes that are supported by specific measures and action items to assess our level of achievement for each.
The 4 outcomes are:
