Pax is Here!
Our recent addition to the Morgan Hill Police Department is our newly formed K-9 unit. Officer David Ray and his K-9 partner "Pax" have been serving our community since August of 2008.

Officer Ray has worked for the City of Morgan Hill since 2000. Since then he has held a number of positions within the police department. Officer Ray has been an "animal person" all of his life and has always wanted to be a K-9 officer. He is very excited to have "Pax" as a partner.

Officer "Pax" is an eighteen month old male German Shepherd dog. He was born and trained in the Czech Republic. He came to the United States in July 2008. He and Officer Ray completed an exhaustive 160 hour training program prior to the team going into service.

Since a dog's sense of smell is far superior to that of humans, "Pax" will be primarily used as a locating tool. This includes searching, and suspect apprehension. "Pax" is a very energetic dog who is enthusiastic about his work.
