Neighborhood Watch
This program provides a means for neighbors to meet each
other and take steps to increase security in their neighborhoods.
Information is provided on a range of topics, from home security
to personal safety. The goal of this program is to educate
and motivate neighbors to participate in community policing

Home or Business Security Inspections: Free security inspections
are available by appointment. A crime prevention specialist
will meet you at your home or business and conduct an interior
and exterior inspection of your premises to make cost-effective
suggestions that can reduce your chances of becoming a crime

Business Watch
This program follows the same principles as Neighborhood
Watch but is geared toward local businesses and addresses
problems of retail theft and bad checks, and develops methods
for police and neighboring businesses to alert one another
of local crime trends that may be occurring. For information,

In-Service Training for Employees
The Police Department can provide customized in-service training
for employees on a wide range of topics, based on the needs
of a business. Topics range from how to recognize shoplifters
and counterfeit currency, as well as laws pertaining to the
workplace and the effect they can have on one's career. For

Megan's Law Database
Members of the general public can ask to view the statewide
automated database of registered sex offenders. The database
can be searched by zip code. The sole purpose of this program
is to provide information for personal protection. This service
is available at our front office during normal business hours
to any person over the age of 18 who is not a registered sex
offender.
