Auto Burglary Prevention Tips
One of the most common crimes committed in Morgan Hill is
auto-burglary. While these crimes occur in spurts in any given
area of the city with no visible pattern, when you add them
up over a year, they average almost one a day. Most occur
at night by smashing a car window and taking valuable items
that are readily visible from the outside such as cell phones,
portable radios, wallets and purses that are left on seats.
These crimes are easily successful because they take less
than a minute to commit and the burglars are rarely seen or
leave behind evidence.
You can reduce your chances of becoming a victim and help
prevent these crimes before they occur by exercising some
simple precautionary steps:
- Be sure to lock your car at all times
when unattended.
- Do not leave valuables in your car or visible
from the outside.
- Park your car in the garage or in a well
lighted, well traveled area at night.
- Call the Police immediately if you discover
it has been broken into or if you see a suspicious person
in the in the area.
