Informal, volunteer group who use Community Park Tennis Courts and Live Oak High School Courts. Private citizens maintain the courts by sweeping them, providing nets, and have paid for lights in the past.

To play tennis for exercise, fun, social encounter and practice for USTA Team play. Coed matches: M/W/F @ 8:30am - OK to just show up....at the Community Courts, (Off of Edmundson)
Mens matches every Saturday @ 8:30am --OK to just show up...
*There is an informal tennis club in Gilroy. They play at the High School and at the recently redone courts at Las Animas Park.

Facility/resources not met: Courts never cleaned; need resurfacing; nets need replacing; windscreens torn; bathroom facilities inadequate and dangerous (no lights); lights on courts often vandalized; courts vandalized-graffiti, paint; courts used for non-tennis activities; debris thrown all over; inadequate security; no water available; need roller-type court dryers for winter season; a stand of bleacher seats for spectators; no city support in financing the operation of the courts or maintenance; need more courts; organized programs needed.

Meets the first Thursday of each month at 8:30am
Volunteers provide gap-filling services to older adults and their care givers when other resources have been exhausted. Services include escorted driving, visiting, repair work, home safety inspections, smoke alarms donations, and delivery of Meals-on-Wheels.

A United Way Agency providing prevention, intervention, treatment, residential and housing services. Comprehensive, multi-service agency serving the communities of South Santa Clara county, South San Jose and San Benito County. The mission of Community Solutions is to create opportunities for positive change by promoting and supporting the full potential of individuals, the strengths of families and the well-being of our community.

Target population is children, youth and families; seriously mentally ill adults and older adults; individuals with addictions; domestic violence and sexual assault survivors; teen and young parents.

Community Solutions' After-school Services are provided El Toro Youth Center. Activities include tutoring, homework assistance, computer technology, crafts, recreation, community service projects and a youth leadership program. Summer programming is also available.

Facilities not met: Large Room in which we can provide activities for youths and families. Community Center would be ideal.

Open to women and men who have a degree from a 4 year college or university, Domestic or Foreign. Anyone who is currently attending college (2 or 4 year) is eligible to be an Associate Member.

Mission statement: AAUW promotes equity for women, education and self-development over the life span, and positive societal change.

Provide graduate scholarships and study grants for women.
Protects the status of women and children.
Provides community services.
Endorses studies to be made about social/educational issues.
Men were admitted beginning in 1984.

Provides a hot meal at noon time for seniors 60 years of age and older. Open Monday thru Friday with doors to the center opening at 8:00a.m. All lunch participants must sign in by 11:30a.m. A contribution of $1.50 for seniors and $4.oo for guests is suggested.

Mt. Madonna YMCA Senior Newsletter is available free of charge and includes daily lunch menu and listing of scheduled activities.

LIVE OAK ADULT DAY SERVICES

Serves persons 60 years of age and older. Fees are on a sliding scale. A nonprofit, community service agency offering a specialized program of recreation and socialization opportunities for the less independent adult. Social and recreational activities for frail elders while providing caregiver respite. Hot meal provided at lunch time.

Provides music products, private lessons, repairs, rentals, personal service, concerts, workshops, and mentoring. Lessons are $70 per month for 1/week for ½ hour. 24 instructors on staff teaching most popular instruments and voice. In-house repair facility and a large stock of rental equipment/instruments.

Yearly events: Harmonica Masterclass Workshop, Legends of The Blues Harmonica Performance, Battle of the Bands (High School and adult), Rock the Weekends Band Program, and the Morgan Hill Downtown Friday Night Music Series. Also involved in IDI and The Taste of Morgan Hill.
