The mission of the Finance Department is to provide financial
services that are accurate, timely, complete, and reliable.
We safeguard the City's assets and maintain the controls necessary
to ensure financial compliance with City, county, state and
federal regulations and policies while adhering to stringent
legal, moral, and professional standards of conduct.
The Finance Department maintains the financial records of
the City. The Department prepares budgetary, financial, and
statistical reports for all the funds of the City and the
Redevelopment Agency (RDA). Our responsibilities include budgeting,
accounting, payroll, payables, cash management, investments
(in cooperation with the elected City Treasurer), financial
forecasting, cashiering operations, business licenses, debt
service management, purchasing, and billing and collection
of all City receivables including utility accounts. In addition,
the Department is responsible for the risk management function.
