Animal Services

Animal Services operates out of the Police Department. The unit consists of civilian employees that receive specialty training in animal management techniques.

The State of California mandates that we ensure all dogs are licensed and maintain current rabies vaccinations. Cat licensing is available but not mandatory.

  • Providing stabilizing emergency medical care for stray animals that are seriously ill or injured.
  • Providing a listing of lost and found pets.
  • Responding to reports of animal neglect and abuse.
  • Tracking potentially dangerous animals within city limits.
