The Induction Cooktop Loaner Program allows Morgan Hill residents to test out the benefits of electrification by borrowing a NuWave Gold Precision Induction Cooktop. Morgan Hill residents can rent out a deluxe Induction Cooktop Loaner Kit at no cost for a 2-week period in order to experience the lifestyle and environmental benefits of decarbonization by converting from gas to induction stovetops.
Induction cooking uses electromagnets to directly heat up its hot plate surface (referred to as burner in traditional gas stove). Electromagnetism allows for quicker heating, a safer cooking surface, more control on cooking temperatures, and reduced amounts of indoor air pollution.
The transition from gas appliances to electric appliances is a key part of our City's Climate Action Plan.
